Vern Avola is a self-taught musician, sound and multimedia artist, graphic designer, radio nerd and champion of friendship based in Portland, Oregon. She has been playing music with people and solo since 2005. She currently releases music under the moniker Trigger Object. She loves switching things up occasionally and has been known to perform solo in the past as Avola, EMS and Dirty Centaur. Her music has been described as "bone-crunching beats, wailing electronics, and multi-layered noisescapes", "fractured, warped, and beautifully deranged."

Avola has performed in duos and bands such as Bear Spray (a duo with Daniel Menche), Dead (Melbourne Australia), Elrond, Shrew Florist, Cocaine DVD and Prizehog. She has performed internationally since 2006 and hosts a radio show on East Village Radio. She has halso hosted shows and had mixes on stations all over the world including Dublab, Freeform Portland, Radio alHara , Radio Raheem, Eist Radio, Retreat Radio, KRCB and The Neon Hospice.

She runs her own label, EMS Records. Her discography includes releases on EMS Records as well as other labels run by friends and heroes such as Sige Recordings, An Out Recordings, Accident Prone Records, Gravity Records, Nadine Records and Saint Rose Records.
